Booth Helpers

We are in need of helpers during the Meet & Greet on Sep 3 at 6:30pm-8:00pm. These are for 30 minute spots at our PFA booth, and possibly helping sell ice cream. We don't want anyone staying for longer than 30 minutes, so they have chance to mingle and meet teachers (so the more helpers the better).

We will be selling Minutemen tshirts and water bottles, and taking PFA membership dues at the PFA table, and ice cream bars at the other tables.

It's going to be a great night, and we hope with a few people pitching in we can give Pam Kruck and our other tireless helpers a break and a chance to meet their kids' teachers.

Get Acquainted Night

Get Acquainted Night is scheduled for Septemeber 3rd at 6:30pm. This is your chance to meet your child's teacher and allow them to see their classroom. You can take a tour, and mingle with other parents.

As a PFA we are selling a yummy treat! We will have Schwan's ice cream bars (in multiple flavors) for sale for $1 each. We will also be selling a few water bottles, but bring your own drinks if you need them. We will also have a booth set up where you can purchase Minutemen tshirts and join the PFA.

What a great night! We hope you all can be there!

Rides for Bowling

If anyone needs a ride for their child, I have 4 seats left. I live on the corner of Greenhurst Rd and Midland, in Nampa, if you need to drop off.

Please email me your address and phone so I can pick the kids up around 9:30.

I'd like to be at the bowling alley a little bit before 10.

If any parents can stick around to help chaperone, we'd appreciate it!

7-9 Meet & Greet CAR WASH

Hello All -

I finally found a place for the car wash. It is at Albertsons, in Nampa. 715 12th Ave. Nampa 83651 (466-2481, Mike or Ruben).

Date: Saturday, August 8

Time: 10:00 - 1:00 (we need to be there at 9:00 for set-up).

Bring: hoses, nozzles, buckets, rags, soaps, window squeegees, sponges, towels.

We can get the kids together a few days before and make signs OR each person attending can make their own sign and bring it.

Tuesday Meeting (Location Change)

Note: This meeting is for ANYONE wanting input on our activities and fundraisers for the year. We would like any or ALL parents to join us in planning for the 2009-10 school year.

Are you interested in helping us this year with some wonderful fundraisers & activities for Nampa Classical Academy? We need you!!! If you are only able to help in a small way you are still needed.

Please come to our Social & Fundraiser Committee Meeting this Tuesday, July 21st @6:30pm. We will meet at the Smokey Mountain Pizza (in large private room). Come have dinner, or just get some dessert! :)

Meet & Greet 1-3 grades

This meet and greet is at Lion's Park (on Davis St.) in Nampa at 10am this Saturday. Bring a treat to share.

These have been super fun, so please come and bring younger and older kids. All the siblings play together while the events are happening for the other kids.

7-9 Grade Meet & Greet Fundraiser

Hello NCA Parents and Staff -

I will be organizing a meet & greet for the 7-9th graders. We will be holding a car wash/fundraiser.

I would like to know:

1. What dates the children are available

2. Would a Friday or Saturday be better

3. Does anyone have a location, in Nampa, we could use (we need water & treet traffic)

4. Who would like to attend this event.

Fundraising & Event Ideas

Below are a few ideas our fundraising committee has come up with. We need A LOT more. Think of anything and everything you'd like to see happen at our Academy. Keep in mind we are only gathering ideas at this point, and anything we do will have to fit our vision and mission, along with being able to afford it. But, we do want to collect ideas to make sure we have all the ideas on paper and collected for this coming year and future years.

Is there anything you wished your former school had? Is there anything you have been dreaming about, but never thought was possible? Are there any fundraising ideas that could also be fun for all involved?

Fundraising-Social Event Ideas

Fall Opening Social/Hamburger Feed:

When: Before school starts or the first weekend of school starting?

Why: An opportunity to meet other families, teachers and headmaster.

Where: Held at a local park in Nampa (the one with the airplanes, or closer to the school site, like Lions?).

How: Family/Individual meal tickets: Food donated by Win Co (cupcakes, corn), Albertsons (cupcakes, water, bottles, chips), Fred Myer(water bottles, buns, condiments) , Paul’s (baked goods, chips), Walmart (cupcakes, buns, pop) Costco (buns, patties, pop, paper products), Sam’s Club (buns, patties, pop, paper products) and local farmers(corn)?

Tickets bought on-line through NCA PFA website with PayPal, so we can get an estimated headcount. Ticket disclaimer printed on tickets that we are not responsible for loss, accident or injury.

Menu: Hamburgers/hot dogs, Corn on the Cobb, Chips, Pop, Dessert.

Individual Booth/Food Tickets sold at event: Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Cupcake Walk, Su mu wrestling, Bungee Run, Rock Wall Fishing, Moon Walk. Some of these businesses will do this for free to advertise for their company.

Holiday PJ Breakfast:

When: First Saturday in December or the one before Christmas break.

Where: Community Church in Nampa?

Why: Unite families, raise money for academy.(Possibility of parents dropping off their kids and being able to get Christmas shopping done, supervised by teachers and volunteers) Everyone comes in their PJ’s, Christmas stories read by faculty, appearance by Santa, Christmas tree ornament craft.

How: Food donated by local grocery stores, craft donated by Michaels, or JoAnns?

Menu: Pancakes, syrup, sausage and bacon (pre-cooked kind?), milk and juice, (fruit?). Ticket prices per individual/family (limit of 6/family ticket?)

Popcorn Sales

Optional Christmas ornament craft: Ticket price/ornament.

Popcorn Sales:

When: every Friday at Lunch recess, kids can finish it during last half of day in class?

Where: @ the academy.

Why: Raise $ for school needs. (.50 / bag)

How: NCA PFA to purchase a commercial popcorn machine ($315-$475) and make profit by offering bags of popcorn on Friday afternoons for sale to the students for.50 each and at other fundraising and sporting events. Out of a student body of 600+ students if we had 15%-20% participation that would= 3-5 students in each class buying popcorn. If we sold 100 bags each week = $50 revenue, within 2 months the machine should be paid for?

Holiday Craft Bizarre:

Rent out a booth to local vendors @ the school gymnasium, (or church site until built?) and charge a nominal fee for the booth space. Each individual handles individual sales.
